Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has published the full calendar for Milano Fashion Week Women's Spring/Summer 2027: September 22 to 28, 2026, seven days, 60 shows in total, 54 in person and 6 digital.
The week is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the ITA Agency and the Municipality of Milan. Those three lines sit at the top of the release, above the brand list, and they explain more about how Milan works than any individual show on the schedule.
Fashion week as trade policy
Paris sells desire and New York sells access. Milan sells manufacturing.
The Italian fashion industry is not principally a collection of famous houses, it is a supply chain: tanneries, knitwear mills, leather goods workshops and the small subcontractors in Veneto, Tuscany and Lombardy that produce for houses headquartered in France. When the foreign ministry and the national trade agency co-sign a fashion week, they are not sponsoring a cultural event. They are running an export promotion for that supply chain, and the runway is the shop window.
This is why Milan's calendar reads differently from the others. It is dense with houses that are large, profitable and export-heavy, and comparatively thin on the experimental names that make a week feel alive to critics. That is not a failure of curation. It is the brief.
The week, laid out
The opening day, Tuesday September 22, does two things at once. The inaugural CNMI Fashion Hub at Palazzo Morando launches at 14:00, with Prada, and Vogue World: Milano runs from 09:30 under the theme "The Human Touch in the Age of Technology".
Putting a permanent-sounding institution called a Fashion Hub into a municipal palazzo on day one, in the same hours as a Vogue-branded spectacle, is a fairly precise statement of the two audiences Milan is addressing: the trade and the feed.
From there the schedule stacks the houses:
- September 23 — Jil Sander, Fendi, Missoni, MM6 Maison Margiela, Etro
- September 24 — Max Mara, Marni, Roberto Cavalli, Emporio Armani
- September 25 — Tod's, Sportmax, Gucci, Moschino, The Attico
- September 26 — Ermanno Scervino, Ferragamo, Dolce&Gabbana, MSGM, closing with Bottega Veneta at 20:00
- September 27 — Giorgio Armani
Two placements worth reading
Bottega Veneta at eight in the evening on the Saturday. An 8pm slot at the end of the busiest day is the most expensive real estate on any calendar: everyone is still in the city, nothing follows it, and the images own the night. Kering does not get that slot by accident, and after the year the group has had, documented in the first-half results, it needs the week to end on its house rather than someone else's.
Giorgio Armani alone on the Sunday. A designer with a day to himself at the close of the week is being treated as an institution rather than as a competitor. Milan has done this for years and it remains the single clearest expression of what the city thinks it is: a place where a house that has been shipping for five decades outranks a house that is having a moment.
The six digital shows
Six of sixty is a small number, and it has stayed small. The digital format was supposed to be the democratising layer of fashion week and has settled instead into what it actually is: an overflow slot for brands that cannot fund a physical show but need to be on the official calendar for buyer and press access.
That is not nothing. It is the same mechanism New York uses to promote its Fashion Fund cohort and the same one Copenhagen used to impose its sustainability standards: the calendar is the asset, and being listed on it is the prize.
What to watch
Whether the Fashion Hub survives into a second season. Camera Moda has launched emerging-designer platforms before. The ones that persist are the ones the ministries keep funding, which means the number to watch in February is not how many designers showed there, but whether the same three institutional names are still at the top of the press release.
Calendar, show counts and institutional support as published by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and reported by Design Scene. Schedules are subject to change before the week opens.
